Automated Picking Systems
Automatic Picking Systems (APS) bring together all articles from individual orders – with flexibility and at the highest throughput rates. SSI Schaefer’s picking systems has permanent batch tracing as fundamental principle of this concept. High system reliability and quick access times, as well as the ability to combine different types of systems allow the handling of nearly all product groups and goods.
SSI Schaefer designed the Multitec Pemat automatic system for fully automated picking of medium and slow-moving products. On several levels products are placed into picking channels in order to save space and have them available at any time. On demand the goods are automatically ejected onto a collection conveyor belt and from there they are transported to a filling point and finally into a tote. Picking channels can easily be refilled during ongoing picking operation.
Automatic batch tracing
Thanks to state-of-the-art technology the batch number, expiration date and article number are saved on a RFID chip at goods receipt and forwarded to the rack together with each product.
